Cooper River Books

a hybrid publishing house from E. Vernon F. Glenn

As E.B. White famously and dryly noted, “it’s never just one thing….”

Cooper River Books

The story behind the name

One gloriously beautiful afternoon, Vernon was marching up Mount Pleasant’s ‘Mountain’ also known as the Arthur, attempting to clear some gerbils out of his brain. Gerbils seem to congregate there, and multiply assiduously. Exertion and sweating have always helped that process, helping him to think, sort, focus and decide.

He looked down, watching the Cooper River’s lead waters shine and shimmer. And so, there it was, the clear, concise idea. He decided in both gratitude and humility that as he has lived here in the Low Country, in Charleston for over thirty-five years, that it would permissible for him to be a bit proprietary about the place he fell in love with so many years ago.

Thus, Cooper River Books was birthed. We are currently looking to publish books in the Southern fiction, crime fiction, and historical nonfiction genres. To learn more about our hybrid publishing services, please contact us here.

Slim & None

The final volume of the Eddie Terrell trilogy is here. Eddie presses on with more vigor than ever. He will run through the tape, not just to it. And as he wends his way through the jungle of the law and the courts, he is occupied by his standard heavy-lifting fare, a variety of matters which include wrongful death and alienation of affections and domestic discord and civil litigation, serious torts and medical malpractice and also deceit and lies and solutions, some necessary but unsavory. His partner and savvy helper Mikey watches him closely as he goes.

“First Rule: Sit down and write. Staring at a blank page without words is starting nothing.”
